The Auto ID lab at MIT gets to take home the prize for being the first (outside of Microsoft) person/group to build (and send me information and pictures) a WiMo .  Shortly after I heard from them, I had the coincidence of being in Boston for a recruiting trip and was able to meet up with them.

They built both a variation of the WiMo NXT as well as the WiMo Aggressor model.  They are even experimenting with one that is similar to my Monster WiMo (shown in the latest channel 9 video)

Indy, a student in the AutoId lab, shows the WiMo
that she built.

They are experimenting with WiMo as a possible hardware platform for their research with RFID scanning (check out their homepage for more information on their projects).
